Members of the Economic Fighters League – UCC Command are demanding for the immediate release of the 33 students of the University of Cape Coast who were arrested at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology campus (KNUST) over the weekend.
The suspects were arrested during the hall week celebration of the Unity Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
According to the police, the suspects could not explain why they were on the campus.
In a statement released by the Fighters UCC they said,
“this act as one of the numerous cases of suppression of the students, and we condemn it, unreservedly.”
“This act is consistent with the indemnity clause in the Sakawa Constitution where the officers’ faction of the indigenous bourgeoisie class oppresses civilians with impunity,”
