Obinim still in police grips, fails to meet bail conditions


The Head Pastor of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has been retained in police custody after being arrested on Tuesday, May, 19, 2020.

This follows the failure of the bishop to meet his bail conditions by a Magistrate Court in Accra after he was arrested and charged for offence of publication of false news and forging of documents contrary to Sections 208 and 159 of the criminal and other Offences Act, 1060 (Act 29) respectively.

Bishop Obinim was granted bail; the sum of GH¢100,000, with three sureties, one to be justified. He is however is yet to meet his bail.

Reports per local media, Daily Graphic, the Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ms Juliana Obeng, confirmed he is yet to meet the bail conditions.
