Jamestown road blockage: Police hunts perpetrators

The Police has begun a search for some youth of Gamashie who blocked the beach road that links the John Atta Mills high street at the Lighthouse area opposite the James town palace in Accra.

The youth, numbering about 500 at about 4pm while celebrating their ‘Ashikpai’ festival on Monday, 14 February 2022, blocked the road, preventing free flow of traffic.

The Accra Regional Police Command and the Jamestown District Command had to intervene to clear the road.

The road was reopened to commuters and motorists following an “an hour-long operation,” a statement by the Police revealed.

It added that: “Efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators.”
