I know how to grow Ghana’s economy better than Akufo-Addo – Mahama

Flagbearer of the main opposition NDC, John Dramani Mahama has accused the NPP government of plunging the economy into a severe contraction.

Speaking at the official launch of the party’s 2020 door-to-door campaign in the Western North region, the former President said the NPP is just tearing the country apart following a minimal USD 4 billion growth of GDP in four years.

With similar conditions that prevailed in both regimes, Mr. Mahama said he added 14 billion dollars to the size of Ghana’s GDP insisting there is a clear difference in who’s delivered.

“…the facts are crystal clear, we are far better than them,” Mr. Mahama said in his address at the launch, adding “a debate between the two of us would have settled it once and for all.”

He bemoaned what he described as the poor outlook of the Ghanaian economy saying the risk of becoming a country trapped in poverty is high if the economy is not rescued come December, 07 elections.

Mr. Mahama launched the NDC 2020 campaign at Dwenasi in the Sefwi Wiawso constituency in the Western North Region.

Meanwhile, he’s set to go into the community to embark on a door-to-door campaign.

Members and supporters of the NDC are expected to replicate this retail campaign in the regions and constituencies in due course.
