4 armed robbers arrested at Weija, to be arraigned today…

Four suspected armed robbers who operate within Weija and its environs have been arrested by the Police.

The Police in a statement indicated that the arrest was carried out during a special intelligence-led operation.

According to the statement, the suspects broke into the residence of their victims at Ajasco Red top, Kokrobite, and made away with their personal effects on Thursday, November 18, 2021.

The four, namely; Benjamin Otoo alias Dada Joe, Tony Mensah Yedu alias Big Joe, Bismark Asabree alias Dagbana and Nana Yaw Arko, after breaking into their victim’s residence, forcibly made away with three laptops, an iPhone 8 plus, three Infinix smartphones, and a Tecno Cammon 7. Other items they stole included; 1 Bluetooth speaker, an extension board, 3 phone chargers, 2 laptops charges together with an unspecified amount of money.

Upon receipt of the robbery report, the Weija Police Command embarked on a special 8-hour covert operation which yielded positive results since it led to the arrest of three of them: Benjamin Otoo, Tony Mensah Yedu, and Bismark Asabree, at their hideouts at Ajasco Red Top and New Aplaku on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

Suspects Bismark Asabree later led the Police to arrest suspect Nana Yaw Arko, from his hideout at Labadi, A search on them led to the retrieval of 20 assorted phones, a taxi cab, 3 laptops, 1 motorbike, 1 locally manufactured pistol, a Police vest, 1 Gota and 14 assorted wristwatches.

All four suspects will be arraigned today, Monday, November 22, 2021. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to get other accomplices arrested to face criminal charges.

Regardless, the Police Administration highly commended all officers and men of the Weija Divisional Police Command and the team in particular for their hard work and efforts in arresting the four suspects.

“We want to reassure the public that we will continue to do whatever it takes to make our communities safe and peaceful.” they added.
